Are Nanny Cameras Legal to use in my State?

In the majority of cases it is absolutely legal to record video with a hidden nanny camera.  Although hidden video with audio recording together is prohibited in several states.  With our nanny cameras we ordinarily advise people wanting audio recording with their video recordings to invest in one of our digital voice recorders.  Although the voice recording may solve your curiosity of activities in the home or office in most cases the recordings are not permissible in a court of law. If this is a concern check with your local private investigators, lawyers, or police to find out the laws regarding hidden audio recordings in your area.   Currently our most impressive unit is our Infrared Nanny Camera that can see up to an astonishing 30 feet in complete darkness.  The infrared nanny camera is hidden in a clock radio with the recordings being housed in the unit using up to a 32 GB SD Card.

We always advise people who are interested in installing a wireless camera system versus a wired system to consider the following.  A wireless camera system can be viewed and recorded by anyone outside of your home with a receiver and monitor that is tuned to the frequency your system is using.   So if there are situations that you would prefer your neighbors or law breakers not to be viewing we would suggest purchasing a wired system or an all inclusive system wherever the camera and recording device are built into a everyday item and plugged directly into the wall for power.

Always use discretion when installing a hidden nanny camera in the home or office.  Installing a hidden nanny camera in a bathroom or bedroom is not advisable unless deemed absolutely
necessary.   Please keep in mind that if you intend to use hidden video or audio recordings as evidence in court, they may be deemed inadmissible without involvement of a licensed private investigator or lawyer. Hidden audio recording is illegal in the following states: California, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Hawaii, Illinois, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, Oregon, Pennyslvania, and Washington. It is best to check the laws in your area regarding surveillance.
