Bglobal celebrates double win

Shares in Lancashire-based smart meters supplier Bglobal climbed after the firm announced two contract wins.

AIM-listed Bglobal has signed agreements with new electricity market entrant MA Energy and Transport for London.

The Darwen-based company will install smart meters which enable users to monitor energy usage in locations and properties run by TfL, including bus stations and London River Services’ piers.

The contract involves the installation of about 150 meters.

Bglobal group chief executive Tony Barnes said: “Transport for London becomes another key partner for Bglobal, and we are proud to be supporting their efforts to make London a more energy-efficient capital.”

The deal with MA Energy will see Bglobal supply and install meters to the firm’s business customers from April onwards. Shares rose 3.8 per cent, or 1.75p, to 47.75p.
