Chance for business to have its say on energy
Manchester businesses are invited to have their say on the future of energy provision.
The Major Energy Users Council will hold a briefing at the City of Manchester Stadium tomorrow for large to medium-sized firms looking to add their voice to the debate over future energy pricing and shortages.
Director general Andrew Buckley said: “Business needs clear signals from the next government that maintaining adequate electricity and gas supplies at competitive prices over the next five years will be a priority.”
The MEUC has argued that predictions of an energy shortage by 2015 and the costs involved in moving to a low-carbon economy are causing uncertainties for businesses as they plan their recovery.
The event runs from 8.45am to 1.25pm.
