Coffee Break: Delta sale cuts some fares to $99 one way
Delta Air Lines’ spring fare sale features prices as low as $99 one way with round-trip purchase from Memphis to Fort Walton Beach and New Orleans.
The sale ends Monday and covers travel between April 12 and May 27.
Other sample one-way fares: Washington Reagan, $159; Philadelphia and Orlando, $109; Hartford, Conn., $119.
Lowered expectations
Cincinnati-based Meridian Bioscience Inc. has lowered its earnings expectations for its current fiscal year based on “weaker than expected” second- quarter results.
Meridian, which has Memphis manufacturing operations at 5171 Wilfong, lowered its annual sales guidance from a range of $160 million to $165 million for the year that will end Sept. 30 to a lower range between $145 million and $153 million. This will push diluted earnings per share down to 70-80 cents per share from 90-95 cents.
Asentinel into Amsterdam
Memphis-based technology company Asentinel is expanding operations with the opening of an office in Amersterdam.
Besides its Memphis world headquarters, the company has a location in Bucharest.
Asentinel, which specializes in billing and Telecom Expense Management (TEM), uses Oracle-based software written in Java for its invoice system.
“When Asentinel was formed in 2002, we envisioned TEM as a comprehensive global solution and built our patented software accordingly,” said Richard Janis, senior vice president of sales. “As such, we have always been well positioned to support multinational enterprises regardless of location, language, currency, telecom carrier or billing medium.”
