CSS aims to clean up

An Oldham firm is using natural ingredients to create a range of antibacterial products that are kind to the skin as well as effective against infection.

Creative Supply Solutions has launched its Klenzar and Sterizar products after eight months of development work.

Hand sanitiser Klenzar is alcohol-free and contains only natural products, including manuka honey and willow bark extract.

And Sterizar is a skin-friendly cleaning product for hard surfaces that is antibacterial and alcohol-free.

Because they contain no alcohol, the products are especially useful in environments where there are children, and the company is also in the process of gaining Halal certification for Muslim users.

And they could find a niche in places such as prisons, mental health wards and alcohol dependency wards where access to alcohol needs to be strictly controlled.

Director Nigel Oakes said: “Some hand sanitisers are 160 per cent proof, so they can’t be used by children.

“We wanted to produce a user-friendly product that was effective against bacteria but was also skin beneficial.

“This took many thousands of pounds to develop.

“We use natural ingredients, not synthetic, which are beneficial to the individual.

“Previously, healthcare and sanitation was only considered in environments such as hospitals, now people are much more health conscious in their homes and workplace.”

The products are effective against bugs including MRSA and E-Coli.

CSS, which was founded in 2007 and has eight staff, is targeting home users as well as healthcare, offices and schools. Nigel said: “We want to see our products being used in the places that will bring benefit to individuals and improve the cleaning methods that people use.”
