Cuyahoga County mental health board to break ground on new support center

The Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services Board of Cuyahoga County next Monday, May 17, plans to break ground on a new support center.

The $1.4 million, 9,000-square-foot Exchange Center will be located at 13407 Kinsman Ave. and is expected to open in spring 2011. The board financed nearly $921,000 of the cost while the Saint Luke’s Foundation provided $120,000 and $450,000 came from the state capital budget. The board will raise the remaining $116,700 to fund new technology.

“The Exchange Center is a drop-in type facility designed by and for consumers of mental health services to provide educational programs and peer support to assist people with mental illness to live a full and productive life,” said William Denihan, CEO of the board.
