Fairy Tales That Prevent Us To Reach Greatness
Fairy Tales That Prevent Us To Reach Greatness., That your career developed successfully, it is necessary to follow some unwritten rules. For anybody not the secret that to women is more difficult to achieve professional successes, than to men. But frequently women make certain misses and wrong moves, which can prevent their career and considerably lower their chances to increase in a post, and even lead to dismissal. Some myths are especially capable to prevent, which for a full due have developed at our consciousness. We will try to discredit them.
Myth 1. There is no education – no career.
Of course, some kinds of professional work require corresponding qualification. Without education you will become neither the doctor, nor the lawyer. But to reach skill tops in many other trades, such, for example, as the journalism, an advertising, and design and practically in all creative directions, is not so necessary university or any other degree. At times it is enough only an evening school or the good textbook. Employers of these trades are more interested in your experience, own style and quality of a portfolio, than in the certificate.
If you cannot be proud of quality of education, there is nothing terrible in beginning career with the bottom echelons. If you dream, for example, about career of a television or the radio anchorperson, safely agree on a post of the junior secretary. Your task – to learn operation of the company from within and to prove, except that, many employers in case of the appeared vacancy prefer to increase workers already familiar with business management, than to take strangers from outside.
Myth 2. The long resume looks impressively.
Only not for the business and busy people. For the majority of employers will be enough competent, ordered and accurate resume in which there is nothing superfluous. It will testify about your organization and ability to express the thoughts – the qualities very valuable to the majority of employers. There is no need to list all previous places of employment, especially if them more than three. It is enough to mention last and the highest ex officio. Also it is not necessary to write about a hobby, if only it is not connected with your trade directly.
Myth 3. Till 25-30 years I already should know, what I want from a life.
There are many examples how in the middle of life people dramatically changed a trade and got success. Do not refuse the dream, even if you are already about forty years old. After all, so many people are unhappy just because they don’t like their work. Of course, after certain age you will never become the cosmonaut anymore, but in the majority of other trades you can quite realize yourself, instead of simply regret for the lost possibilities. After all, in forty years age some become even models and perfectly show clothes of big sizes.
Good luck!
