Fifth Third Bank extends hours at many Northeast Ohio branches
Fifth Third Bank has extended its hours at more than half of its Northeast Ohio locations.
In Akron and Greater Cleveland, 51 branches — 60% of the bank’s footprint in this area — will be open 30 minutes longer on weekdays and an hour later on Saturdays. The bank will remain closed on Sundays.
The new hours begin May 3. The bank will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays.
“We understand the importance of convenience when it comes to choosing and interacting with your bank,” Kurt Raicevich, senior vice president and head of retail for Fifth Third Bank, Northeastern Ohio, said in a statement. “Our consumer and small business customers are busier than ever and we are pleased to extend the hours at select branch locations into the evening and on the weekend to better serve their needs.”
Fifth Third spokeswoman Laura Passerallo said the hours vary by location based on community needs.
In February, Huntington National Bank extended its hours and added Sunday banking at Northeast Ohio locations. FirstMerit Bank extended its hours in December in most of its market.
Tom Partridge, Northeastern Ohio market president for Fifth Third Bank, had said previously that Fifth Third regularly evaluates its hours. He said the bank last reviewed its hours last winter and changed them at a “select number” of locations.
This decision also was made during a routine review of service enhancements, Ms. Passerallo said.
