Flowcrete’s new £1.5m HQ gives room to grow

Flooring manufacturer Flowcrete is planning to take on an extra 20 to 30 staff over the next two years following the opening of new headquarters in Cheshire.

Managing director Mark Greaves said the completion of the £1.5m scheme means a group of portable buildings which staff had been using can now be removed to allow for expansion of the neighbouring factory.

The complex in Sandbach was opened by the Duke of Gloucester yesterday, and Flowcrete, a £69m-turnover company which is a subsidiary of US-based RPM International, says its reaffirms its commitment both to green technology and to manufacturing in the north west.

“We have been growing rapidly not just overseas but also within the UK, where turnover has increased from less than £5m 10 years ago to over £20m today,” said Mr Greaves.

“But our previous headquarters building was of 19th century construction and was falling down. We were only really using it for meetings. Now the new building has been completed, we can begin work on expanding the factory over the next two years.”

Flowcrete, which currently employs 95 people in the north west, has eight manufacturing sites around the world.

The new headquarters has been designed to showcase the company’s environmental credentials, and features a range of environmentally-friendly Flowcrete and RPM products.

The heating system has reduced energy consumption by 93 per cent.
