KeyCorp names Bill Koehler president of KeyBank’s Great Lakes Region
KeyCorp said Bill Koehler has been named president of KeyBank’s Great Lakes Region, which includes Ohio, Michigan and Indiana.
In his new position, Mr. Koehler will lead seven district teams that are focused on delivering Key’s products and services to retail, commercial banking and private banking clients in the region.
Mr. Koehler previously led KeyCorp’s Keyvolution project, a corporatewide initiative focused on improving the company’s efficiency and effectiveness. He also served as KeyBank’s Michigan district president. In that role, he was responsible for growing Key’s franchise within Southeastern Michigan.
Mr. Koehler succeeds Chuck Sulerzyski, who left the bank “to pursue other opportunities,” a spokesman said.
Mr. Koehler gained corporate finance and leadership experience in previous roles within KeyBanc Capital Markets, where he served as a managing director and segment leader of the Financial Sponsors Group and Regional Banking. He previously was employed at McDonald Investments, which KeyCorp acquired in 1998.
Key’s Great Lakes Region includes 341 branches throughout Cleveland, Akron, Canton, Youngstown, Mansfield, Columbus, Dayton, Cincinnati and Toledo in Ohio, Ann Arbor and Detroit in Michigan and South Bend, Elkhart, Kokomo and Indianapolis in Indiana.
