Memphis-based French & Company Realtors merges into Crye-Leike
The consolidation of real estate agencies continued today with the announcement that French &pany, Realtors is merging into Crye-Leike Realtors.
French &pany, founded in 1977 by Gail and Nick French, has five agents and will move out of its offices at 3181 Poplar and into Crye-Leike’s East Memphis office on Perkins.
Just three months ago, Coleman-Etter Fontaine Realtors merged into Crye-Leike with its principal saying it’s harder topete with big agencies.
That wasn’t the issue for French &pany, Nick French said, adding, “What I am looking for is broader technical support, better Web presence, that type of thing.”
French brings to Crye-Leike its reputation as a broker of finer properties, “a piece of the market they’d like to have,” French said.
Crye-Leike is the state’s biggest agency with 3,200 sales associates in nine Southern states.
“We expect to see more consolidation of firms as we all seek to be more efficient and provide better services to our customers,” Steve Brown, Crye-Leike’s general manager, said in a prepared statement.
Nick French will be a vice president at Crye-Leike, and the Frenches will operate there as The French Connection at Crye-Leike.
