Memphis slates open houses next weekend

Memphis Realtors will participate in a nationwide weekend of open houses April 10-11.

The idea is to bring attention on special factors that make this a good time to buy a house, Memphis Area Association of Realtors officials say.

Interest rates are still relatively low and the federal tax credit of up to $8,000 will be available to homebuyers who have a signed contract by April 30 and close within 60 days.

Glenn A. Moore, MAAR president, said, “For the serious buyer, the opportunity to tour dozens of homes in one weekend is a real time saver and others who didn’t think they could afford a home might be drawn into the market by affordable prices and low interest rates,” association president Glenn A. Moore said.

Blue Realtor balloons will mark the homes participating in the nationwide open house.
