Oltec makes move into recruitment with acquisition
The Wigan-based Oltec Group has bought Crest Recruitment out of administration as part of its strategy to diversify into the sector.
Crest, which was established in 1990, is a £ 2m+ turnover business that employs 600 staff with its headquarters in Blackpool.
It specialises in supplying staff for the industrial and commercial sectors and local authorities in the North West.
The firm was placed into administration after suffering setbacks including non payment of invoices from customers.
Oltec bought its contracts, assets and goodwill from administrators MCR for an undisclosed sum.
Oltec will keep the Crest brand and a base in Blackpool to service its clients base which includes local authorities and well known national operators.
Oltec has more than 2,000 staff in 200 locations in the UK and Ireland and offers security and cleaning services to the retail and commercial sectors, as well as operating a hotel and janitorial supplies business.
Clients include Boots the Chemist, House of Fraser, Sale Shopping Centre and Diesel.
Group chief executive Olivier Cavaliere said: “Crest Recruitment is an impressive business, which will fit well within our current Group strategy.
“It is one of the leading and most respected recruitment companies in the North West and we have every intention to give it national status in the very near future”
“The management team of both Oltec and Crest have similar outlooks in their desire to provide first class services to customers. The merger is part of our strategy to become one of the largest independent provider of soft services in the UK.”
