San Carlo magic is exported to Kuwait
Manchester Italian restaurant San Carlo is opening a new outpost in Kuwait City.
The 150 seat restaurant joins San Carlo Groups’ expanding ‘Signor Sassi’ chain and is set to open this month.
The restaurant will be the groups’ second Kuwait venue, with the first opening in October last year.
Signor Sassi is part of the Italian family-owned San Carlo Group, which has a partnership agreement with the Kuwait-based restaurant and food group Americana to open 22 restaurants throughout the Middle East and North Africa.
More branches are planned for Dubai, Riyadh and Cairo.
Americana operates more than 1,000 restaurants with more than 35,000 employees across 17 countries between the Atlantic Ocean and Caspian Sea.
It operates international franchises including TGIF and Krispy Kreme donuts and has 18 factories in five countries producing food products including Heinz.
Director Marcello Di Stefano said: “Italians are known for their love of good food and the buzzing lively atmosphere of their restaurants. We have taken these principles to the Middle East and we are passionate about sharing the San Carlo magic.”
San Carlo also has outlets in Liverpool, Birmingham, Bristol, Leicester and London, and is planning an opening in Guernsey.
