Sceptre Leisure director stands down
Adrian Gare, a former director of corporate finance at the Manchester office of accountancy firm Baker Tilly, is quitting Lancashire-based amusement machines supplier Sceptre Leisure after just three months as group finance director.
In a stock market statement, Sceptre Leisure, which has its headquarters in Bamber Bridge, near Preston, said Mr Gare had decided to leave the company and return to a corporate finance-based role rather remaining in a commercial post with a quoted company.
He will leave on Friday but has stepped down from the board with immediate effect. Sceptre said it was fortunate to have a strong and experienced finance team.
Lesley Humphrys and Mark White, who hold senior finance roles within the group, will assume Mr Gare’s day-to-day responsibilities.
Mr Gare worked closely with Sceptre for a decade before joining the group, advising on a series of acquisitions which helped the business to grow from a regional player to a national supplier.
