Should I Start a Business or Not?

One Forum Guest writes, “I am anxious to start my own sole proprietor business as a mobile welding service; however, I’m not quite able to afford the operating costs of a service company (liability insurance, WCB, etc).

I do, however, have enough equipment to start ‘something’. And I’m very anxious to start!

Is it possible for me to begin a business strictly selling premade products to sell and then later on expand the business to include the ‘service’ part once my insurance etc is taken care of?

What would you advise? Is this a good idea or not?
