STI 0.61% lower at midday
SINGAPORE shares were lower at midday on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index at 2,915.63, down 0.61 per cent, or 17.76 points.
About 952 million shares exchanged hands.
Losers beat gainers 243 to 136.
