From the humble beginnings of the Downtown store at the corner of Beale and Second — where it was founded by brothers Bernard and Guy Lansky — to its modern incarnation inside The Peabody, the store is perhaps best known because of its most famous customer, Elvis Presley.

The 144-page book features stories about the business’ history and includes never-before-published photos of Elvis in the store.

“This is a look at Lansky’s through the ages and also a glimpse into Memphis’ past,” said Hal Lansky, son of founder Bernard Lansky. “We think it’s a great tribute to the city and to our store.”

Price is $35, and copies will be available at Lansky, Graceland and area bookstores.

Preordered books will be signed by Bernard Lansky and may be reserved by calling 529-9070 or by going online at lanskybros.com.
