Young’s novel idea is picked up by Penguin
A Manchester graphic design agency has won a worldwide book deal with Penguin after it set up a quirky website designed to promote its skills.
Young, founded just 11 months ago, launched learnsomethingeveryday.co.uk to raise awareness of the new business.
It was inspired by a conversation in the pub between co-founders Peter Jarvis and Geth Vaughan.
Pete said: “Being a new studio without many contacts within the industry, we needed to get our name out there. We came to the conclusion that something that was updated daily would keep our company in people’s minds.”
The site features a new fact every day, illustrated with a cartoon designed in-house. Within two weeks, the site was getting 10,000 hits a day and now the Young team has signed a deal with Penguin for a book, to be released next spring.
