From now through to 11:59pm on May 31, Virgin Australia is casting its transfer promo net far and wide, inviting members of more than 20 loyalty and rewards programs to boost their Velocity Frequent Flyer balance and enjoy a bonus of up to 20%. Details can be found on the promotional page.
In just a few clicks, you could be winging your way onto that next points-based award flight on either Virgin Australia or its partners such as Air Canada, Etihad Airways, Hawaiian Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Qatar Airways and United Airlines.
On the list is American Express Membership Rewards, which enjoys the highest points bonus of the bunch, in addition to ANZ Rewards, Citi Rewards and HSBC Rewards. There’s also Marriott Bonvoy and Accor ALL in the mix for those who’ve saved up from hotel stays.
The points bonus is tied to specific cards, while points may take up to six weeks to appear in your Velocity account. But, if you’re not in a hurry to book a flight, it’s well worth the wait.

Why would you bother. I cannot find a single business class seat from BNE to LAX (on UA) right up until the end of next February. This promotion is clearly only aimed at getting cash from the banks to boost the bottom line of VA
For the avoidance of confusion, I am a very long time VA Platinum member.

I've never been able to find any UA J redemption at all. Not sure if they ever release it.

Just redeemed MEL-DOH-CDG in QR J return and a LHR-DOH-DPS in QR J with velocity, this transfer bonus cannot come at a better time !!
